IFC Midnight has purchased the North American rights to the “Cabin Fever” reboot, says Variety.
Directed by Travis Z, the script for the new film was written by Eli Roth and Randy Pearlstein, based on a story by Roth. Roth, of course, directed the original 2002 film of the same name.
Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Samuel Davis, Nadine Crocker and Dustin Ingram star in the film, the story of five college graduates who rent a cabin in the woods and fall victim to a flesh-eating virus that attracts the unwanted attention of the homicidal locals.
The original film featured Cerina Vincent, Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, James DeBello and Giuseppe Andrews. A couple of direct-to-video follow-ups followed, one of which featured a cameo by Strong.
