Imbruglia returns to the big screen

It’ll be a hard feat, but Natalie Imbruglia is going to give it a hard whack and see if she can’t make a better movie than "Johnny English". Snigger, Snort, Giggle under your breath if you will.

The one-time "Neighbours" starlet turned International songstress has signed to star in the new film "Elise", reports the SMH.

The film tells of a woman whose life is troubled by the disappearance of her sister 20 years earlier.

"I can confirm she’s definitely doing it," said producer Rosemary Blight of Sydney’s RB Films. "It’s very much a collaboration between Natalie and the director, James Bogle.

"We’ve been developing it for a long time with Natalie. It will be made in Australia and we’re just waiting to set the dates once a hole in her schedule emerges."

The 30-year-old actress will work closely with director Bogle on the flickeroo – set to shoot in her native Australia.
