In The Line Of Fire, Island of Dr Moreau series in the works

Another day, another bit of news pertaining to a TV series based on a movie. Make that two.

Firstly, NBC is turning Clint Eastwood flick “In the Line of Fire” into a movie, with “CSI” duo Carol Mendelsohn and Josh Berman on writing duties. The Sony Pictures TV production will tell of a secret service agent and his female partner who get caught up in a game of cat-and-mouse with a rogue CIA hitman who threatens to take down the POTUS. A new series inspired by the classic “The Island of Dr Moreau” is set at CBS. “Raiders of the Lost Ark” alums Kennedy/Marshall will produce with “Sleepy Hollow” co-creator Phillip Iscove on writing duties. I”n the TV adaptation, the title character of disgraced London physiologist Dr. Moreau — who retreats to an island to work on his experiments creating animal-human hybrids — is a woman. Fiercely intelligent and fearless, Dr. KCBS Logoatherine Moreau expands the boundaries of medicine through bold and revolutionary scientific experimentation and treatments in her privately funded island hospital.” Val Kilmer not involved.
