Former “Prison Break” star William Fichtner will have a lead role in “Independence Day 2”, according to Deadline.
Fichtner, whose other credits include “Drive Angry” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will play a general in the film; his character will be back – in an even bigger way – in the two sequels to follow.
Fichtner is currently filming the sequel to “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.
Roland Emmerich’s “Independence Day 2”, which also stars Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, and Vivica A.Fox, releases next year.
