Is Ricky Gervais replacing Carell on The Office?

It’s strange that NBC haven’t announced Steve Carell’s replacement over on “The Office” yet, isn’t it?

Is something up there? Is there a jack-in-the-box like surprise on the way as far as the show’s new lead is concerned?

Ricky Gervais reprised his role as David Brent from the original Brit “Office” tonight on the U.S version (of which Carell is departing shortly) and… I gotta say… those last words shared between Michael Scott and David Brent, they, well… they could suggest that something’s in the works. Just putting it out there.
