J.J Abrams makes use of unproduced Rod Serling screenplay

JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot – the company, not the electronic toy that he keeps in the top bedside drawer – will make an event series out of Rod ‘Twilight Zone’ Serling’s final screenplay.

Sterling’s last unproduced screenplay is called “The Stops Along The Way”, which has – after all these years – found a home with “Star Trek” redo-er Abrams and Warner Bros TV.

“I’m terribly, wonderfully excited that J.J. is interested and going to do it,” Carol Serling told Variety. “It was one of my husband’s favorite pieces. He thought it had great potential.”

Meanwhile, a reboot of Sterling’s classic “Twilight Zone” series is in the works at Bryan Singer’s camp, whose planning something for the big screen.
