Neal Moritz, Sony to remake A Prophet

“Fast & Furious” and “xXx” producer Neal Moritz is uniting with Sony to remake French flick “A Prophet”, Deadline reported today.

The 2010 Award-winner is the story of a young man who rises to the top of a crime syndicate after being mentored by the boss.

Moritz, who seems to have a woody for Vin Diesel thus predicting Vin might end up in this thing, said the flick is “an epic crime saga with compelling characters and original storytelling. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to make an English-language version of the film and am grateful to have the trust of Jacques Audiard and his producers, as well as the writers Thomas Bidegain, Nicolas Peufaillit, and Abdel Raouf Dafri.”
