Jack Black joins Jumanji reboot

Jack Black has joined Sony’s “Jumanji” reboot, co-star Dwayne Johnson has revealed.

He joins Johnson and Kevin Hart in the cast, though his role is being kept under wraps.

Jake Kasdan is on board to direct the latest adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s original 1981 adventure book. It was famously made into a movie starring Robin Williams in 1995.

Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner worked on the script from a draft by the original writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The story centers on a 12-year-old boy who gets trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 26 years later.

The film has been slated to open on July 28, 2017.
