Jake Abel Front-Runner for Stephenie Meyer’s The Host

Last time we heard on the casting front for “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer’s next big screen adaptation from her other novel “The Host”, was that there was several male actors being considered for two of the main male roles–one being the role of boyfriend Jared and the other role of Ian.

One of the names that was mentioned among the role for Ian was “The Lovely Bones”‘ Jake Abel, who previously worked with Saoirse Ronan in “The Lovely Bones” and has already been cast as Melanie Stryder, Deadline reports.

Ian is described as a menacing young man who brutalizes Wanderer before falling in love with her.

Andrew Niccol will direct the film who also wrote the script. Abel’s other on-screen credits include “I Am Number 4”, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” and it’s upcoming sequel, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters” as well as starring in a few episodes of TV’s “Supernatural”.
