Music sensation Jason Derulo will make his feature acting debut in the live-action adaptation of “Cats”, Working Title and Universal’s big-screen transfer of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
The ‘Talk Dirty’ singer joins a superlative cast including James Corden, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift and Rebel Wilson, among others, with Tom Hooper directing.
The story tells of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as “the Jellicle choice” and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
Derulo will play a feline named Rum Tum Tugger, who is rebellious and never satisfied.
Production begins next month on the film.
