Lili Taylor has replaced Cynthia Nixon on Braden King’s “The Evening Hour”. Adapted from Carter Sickels’ 2012 novel, the story follows Cole Freeman, a young man who maintains an uneasy equilibrium in his rural Appalachian town, looking after the old and infirm in the community and selling their excess painkillers to local addicts. Christopher Convery (“The Girl in the Spider’s Web”) has joined the cast of STXfilm’s “The Boy 2”. The William Brent Bell directed film, which stars Katie Holmes in the lead, centers on a young family that, unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, moves into the estate. George R.R Martin has confirmed when the new “Game of Thrones” prequel series will be set. “‘10,000 years’ is mentioned in the novels. But you also have places where maesters say, ‘No, no, it wasn’t 10,000, it was 5,000.’ . . . So I think it’s closer to 5,000 years. Westeros is a very different place. There’s no King’s Landing. There’s no Iron Throne. There are no Targaryens — Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, recently cast as Huntress in the “Birds of Prey” film, spoke a little about the film and when she’s due on set in a new interview. “It’s sort of a spinoff of Suicide Squad. It kind of follows Harley Quinn, which is Margot Robbie’s character from those films, and this sort of girl gang that she puts together. I play Huntress, and we’ve got Black Canary, played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Rosie Perez and Ewan McGregor. It’s a really fun, fun cast.
