John Turturro to play Carmine Falcone in the new Batman

One of the most versatile actors this side of the White House, John Turturro is headed to Gotham City.
The acclaimed thesp, whose varied work includes everything from “Barton Fink” and “The Big Lebowski” to “Fearless” and a “Transformers” flick, will play crime boss Carmine Falcone in Matt Reeves’ “Batman” reboot.
The mob boss, who has long had ties to Thomas and Martha Wayne, framed Commissioner Gordon for murder at one stage. It was also hinted that he was Catwoman’s father.
Turturro, portraying a character previously played on screen by Tom Wilkinson in “Batman Begins” and John Doman on TV’s “Gotham”, joins Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright and Paul Dano in the pic.
“The Batman” opens June 25, 2021.
