Is Nick Jonas set to join the cast of Sony’s Jumanji movie?

Nick Jonas is in talks to join Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black in Sony’s “Jumanji” movie, reports Deadline.

Jake Kasdan is directing the reimagining of the 1981 adventure book by Chris Van Allsburg which was famously made into a movie starring Robin Williams in 1995.

Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner worked on the script from a draft by the original writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The story centers on a 12-year-old boy who gets trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 26 years later.

Producers are Matt Tolmach and William Teitler with exec producers Kasdan, Van Allsburg, Johnson, David Householter, Ted Field, Mike Weber and Dany Garcia. Shooting starts next month in Honolulu.

“Jumanji” is set for a July 28, 2017 release.
