Ashley Judd’s set to star in a new film – and it’s not even one of Billy Friedkin’s!
The “Double Jeopardy” – next seen in Friedkin’s “Bug” – star will most likely join the cast of writer-director Wayne Kramer’s ensemble immigration drama “Crossing Over” for the Weinstein Co, says Variety.
Already starring are Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Sean Penn and Cliff Curtis.
Set in Los Angeles, storyline revolves around immigrants from different countries and backgrounds who share a common bond in desperately trying to gain legal status.
Judd will play an immigration defense attorney who is trying to arrange the adoption of a Nigerian girl.
More cast members are expected to be added to the pic, with some, like Penn, making only a brief appearance. Kramer is set to begin shooting later this month in L.A.
