Karre Andrews to direct Cabin Fever prequel

A prequel to Eli Roth’s terrifically-entertaining shredding-skin classic “Cabin Fever” is in the works.

Like the (absolutely horrendous) sequel, “Cabin Fever 2 : Spring Fever”, “Cabin Fever : Patient Zero” will go direct-to-DVD under Lionsgate’s charge. Comic book artist Kaare Andrews (“Spider-Man : Reign”) is in final negotiations to direct, says THR, but no cast have been tapped for infection yet.

The Jake Wade Wall (“The Hitcher”) penned film “follows the passengers of a cruise ship in the Caribbean that runs aground a research island. They must find a way to survive before the disease consumes them” and will shoot in the Dominican Republic.

The plan is to segue this film into a second sequel, ”Cabin Fever: Outbreak”.
