Kill Bill star gets The Slap

NBC is making its own version of Australian hit show “The Slap” and Uma Thurman is on board to star.

Thurman is a last minute recruit, set to replace Mary-Louise Parker who, according to TV Line, is unable to go through with the project due to pneumonia.

The eight-ep drama centres on the fallout that ensues after a man slaps another couple’s misbehaving child.

Production is already under way in New York with Lisa Cholodenko directing from Jon Robin Baitz’s script.

Melissa George, Thandie Newton, Peter Sarsgaard and Zachary Quinto also star.
