Kong: Skull Island to film Down Under

Another Hollywood blockbuster is set to lens in the land of Oz.

Legendary Pictures’ and Warner Bros’ “Kong: Skull Island” will film in Queensland, Australia in early 2016.

The shoot will take place in the Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast with pre-production set to kick off this month, Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced.

The film will also lens in two other international locations that haven’t been revealed yet.

“Kong: Skull Island” becomes the third major Hollywood project to be filmed in Australia next year, with “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Alien: Paradise Lost” also bringing production Down Under.

The film stars Tom Hiddleston, Sam Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham and Toby Kebbell. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing from a script by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy and Derek Connolly which sees a team of explorers venture deep inside the mysterious and dangerous home of the titular ape.

“Kong: Skull Island” will debut in March 2017.
