Lanter fighting sharks with Nicolas Cage

“Heroes” actor Matt Lanter is joining big screen ‘hero’ Nicolas Cage for warship thriller ”USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage”, according to Deadline.

The film tells the true story of a US warship that was sunk by a Jap sub in the Philippine Sea near the end of the second World War. 900 crewmen survived, but they found themselves in shark infested waters! — I don’t know what would be worse!?

The sailors awaited rescue for more than three days, during which time the sharks gobbled up heaps of crewmen. Terrifying stuff.

Lanter is playing Chief Petty Officer Brian “Bama” Smithwick A US Navy Diver from the Gulf Coast.

Shooting starts in Mobile Alabama in June under the direction of “New Jack City” helmer Mario Van Peebles.
