Latest bible-inspired yarn to star Joseph Fiennes and Tom Felton

Kevin Reynolds (“Waterworld”) has cast Joseph Fiennes and Tom Felton in his ‘first-century epic thriller’ “Clavius”, according to Deadline.

The latest in an ostensibly long line of newly-announced bible-inspired pictures fixes on a Roman soldier who is investigating claims of resurrection by a fellow known as Jesus Christ.

An agnostic Roman Centurion (Fiennes) charged by Pontius Pilate to investigate rumors of a risen Messiah and locate the missing body of Jesus of Nazareth in order to subdue an uprising in Jerusalem. Along the Centurion’s high-stakes mission, his doubts of such a supernatural occurrence are challenged as he encounters the Apostles and other historical characters while piecing together the mysterious events that unfolded after the crucifixion.

Production begins in August in Malta and Spain.
