League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series at Fox

No doubt spurred on by ABC’s forthcoming superhero-series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, Fox have commissioned a pilot for – another about a ‘superhero team (of sorts) – a “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” series.

Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore. “The League” sees “a group of Victorian-age literary characters, including Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, who team up to fight a common enemy”, per TV Line.

Michael Green, previously a showrunner on Kings, Heroes and The River, will serve as writer/executive producer/showrunner. Erwin Stoff (Kings, The Matrix) is also executive producing.

So, not exactly Whedon’s onboard this one, but surely it’ll be better than the 2003 film version starring Sean Connery!?
