Lizzy Caplan starring in a Friend of Bill

Bron Studios and Gloria Sanchez are set to produce “Friend of Bill” with Lizzy Caplan attached to star.

In “Friend of Bill”, Caplan will play a writer who returns to her small, idyllic hometown after she’s arrested for public intoxication. But a complicated relationship with her mother and a pair of male suitors — one a former teacher and the other a volunteer at the AA meetings she secretly attends — continually derail her attempts to get sober.

Amy Rice will direct the feature from Harper Dill 2011 Black List script.

Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum of Gloria Sanchez will produce with Aaron L. Gilbert of Bron Studios. Margot Hand of Picture Films and Caplan also will produce.
