In news that’s sure to have our editor jumping through bowls of fiery fruit loops in an effort to get his hands on calligraphy for the promo, a casting call issued today suggests David Lynch is indeed – as rumoured for the past couple of years now – returning to ‘Twin Peaks’.
The casting call indicates that Lynch, who with Mark Frost brought the cult classic series to the small screen in the early ‘90s (and then to the big screen via the ill-fated 1992 release “Twin Peaks : Fire Walk With Me”), is looking for a buxom redhead to front some kind of new promo… tied to ‘Peaks’.
This is what uncovered at Welcome to Twin Peaks :
TWIN PEAKS PROMO. Directed by David Lynch. Shoots in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Prob a 6 hour or less day. Rate is 150/8. You must live in LA to submit. I don’t think SAG has jurisdiction on this, so SAG and NON can submit. I have called SAG to double check this and I am awaiting a call back to confirm this though.

So… what is it? Is it a network promo for a TV series reboot? A promo for a web series spin-off? Maybe it’s simply a promo for a re-broadcasting of the original series? As we see it, if David Lynch himself is directing the promo – which it’s stated he is – then it’s probably something a little more than a Burger King promo for a new ‘Twin Peaks’ wrap. One suggestion is that he’s directing something for the upcoming Blu-ray box set. Very possible. Hopefully we’ll have answers soon.
