Aussie short Cargo to be full-length movie starring Martin Freeman

Martin Freeman (“The Hobbit”) is attached to star in a film based on a 7-minute short by Australian directors Ben Howling and Yolanda Ramke, says THR.

The “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” actor will star in the zombie thriller “Cargo”, inspired by a short that went viral a couple of years back. In it, the Brit plays a father who must try save his infant child at all costs. When he becomes infected following a violent attack and with only 48 hours before he transforms into one of the very creatures he’s fought to evade, Andy sets out on a precarious journey to find a new guardian.

Howling and Ramke return to direct the feature-length version of their YouTube hit. “Babadook” producer Kristina Ceyton is also aboard the project, which Screen Australia is backing.

Freeman is currently on screens in the aforementioned “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” as well as “Captain America : Civil War”.
