Michael Barbieri has been cast in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, reports Heroic Hollywood.
According to the outlet, he’s set to join Tom Holland in the cast and will play one of Peter Parker’s friends.
Meanwhile, Comicbook.com reports that “Barbieri’s character will be a new one, though he’ll be based off the Ultimate Spider-Man character Ganke. In that comicbook from Marvel Comics, Ganke is the trusted best friend of the other Spider-Man, Miles Morales. His affinity for Superheroes and unwavering optimism and support of his friend are his standout characteristics, which can be expected to be found in Barbieri’s new character.”
Jon Watts is directing “Spider-Man Homecoming” which stars Holland in the titular role.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein penned the script, with the film set to open on July 7, 2017.
