More Twin Peaks in 2006

Laura’s being chopped up, rolled back up into the plastic and dumped back on the river bed – just in time for the returning crowds.

Finally, an update on the long-awaited DVD Release of "Twin Peaks : Season 2", originally scheduled for release late last year (Then rescheduled for earlier this year, then again, about now, and again, and again – get the picture?). In short, this is one title that’s as indiscernible as the action figure for the Invisible Woman (little more than air in a packet I hear?).

The Digital Bits put an ear to the glass of the Great Northern today and overheard some rumblings. Apparently work is ‘finally’ underway on the second season DVD set, but it won’t be hitting shelves until sometime next year.

Rumours suggest that the prints have to be drastically cleaned up – dirtier than Paris Hilton’s journal, apparently – and that the studio’s been on a mission to find some extras. No word on whether David Lynch has been any help in supplying supplements.

Still, it is coming, and sounds like the studio’s working hard on releasing something quite grand. Or at least, clean.

Season Two of the series does away with the ‘Who Killed Laura Palmer?’ storyline and goes the self-contained episode route. Newcomers to the season included a young lass named Heather Graham, filling the spot of Love Interest for the irreplaceable Agent Dale Cooper, Billy Zane, as a Prince Charming for the sexy Audrey, and some chap named David Duchovny, who struts around in a dress as cross-dressing agent, Denise/Dennis Bryson.

If that’s not enough to wet your friendly webmaster’s Spider panties – there’s word that the U.K is going to be treated to a new "Fire Walk With Me" disc. The MK2 version, says Dugpa, is "by far the best as far as picture and sound quality go". No deleted scenes – that’s an improbable wish for fans – but still, it’ll sound super through the woofers and look a treat on the Plasma.

Talking of everything Lynch, there’s some new shots over at ChrystaBell.com which ‘could be’ on-set shots from David Lynch’s next movie "Inland Empire". Point your clicker to the underlined linkage above.
