Natalie Portman logs on for Jobs biopic

Natalie Portman is in talks to join Michael Fassbender in director Danny Boyle and Universal’s Steve Jobs biopic.

The “Black Swan” star nearly worked with Fassbender on the troubled western “Jane Got a Gun” before director Lynn Ramsey and consequently Fassbender exited the film.

The Jobs biopic, written by Aaaron Sorkin, was originally set up at Sony before they put it into turnaround. Universal have now taken on the film.

Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio had been attached to the project, at different times, before Fassbender was signed to play Jobs.

Portman’s competition for the female lead included Jessica Chastain, who had met with Boyle about the film.
