In small-screen superhero news, ABC has picked up “Agent Carter” and renewed “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, while NBC has picked up “Constantine” to series, and The CW has “The Flash”.
ABC has renewed most of it’s dramas, including “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Scandal”, “Revenge”, “Castle”, “Resurrection” & “Once Upon A Time”.
Frank Langella (“Frost/Nixon”) is joining “The Driftless Area”, the romantic drama which begins shooting in Vancouver on May 14.
Uh-Oh! Elizabeth Banks is being sued for “Walk of Shame”.
MGM and New Line are partnering up on the Reese Witherspoon/Sofia Vergara action-comedy (previously titled “Don’t Mess With Texas”).
The film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s “The Blunderer” adds Patrick Wilson and Jessica Biel to it’s cast.
John Goodman and Ken Watanabe are voicing characters in the upcoming “Transformers : Age of Extinction”.
Dianne Wiest (“The Lost Boys”), Rosie Perez (“Fearless”) and David Oyelowo (“The Butler”) are set for “Five Nights In Maine”, with the latter playing “a man reeling from the tragic loss of his wife who visits his estranged mother-in-law (Wiest) in Maine seeking answers. Maris Curran scripted and is directing.”

“Twilight” star Nikki Reed will front “The Sunday Horse” from director Vic Armstrong. The drama is “based on the true story of Debi Connor, an equestrian rider from the wrong side of the tracks who overcomes the odds, and a near-fatal accident, to win the U.S. championship on a horse saved from slaughter.”
Patrick Fabian (“The Last Exorcism”), Rhea Seehorn (“Franklin & Bash”) and Michael Mando (“Orphan Black”) have been cast in the “Breaking Bad” prequel, “Better Call Saul”.

Patty Jenkins (“Monster”) will direct the female assassin pic “Sweetheart”.
Former “Homeland” star Damian Lewis will play Henry VIII in BBC/Masterpiece’s “Wolf Hall”.

Writer and producer Simon Kinberg says the “Fantastic Four” reboot will be post-converted into 3D. “We’re definitely imagining the story in 3D as we’re making it, and it has powers that are well-suited to telling the story in 3D—not just Reed, but you have somebody that is on fire, and that’s something that can be immersive and scary. The reason to use 3D in this Fantastic Four, I think, is to make the experience feel as immersive as possible, where you feel like you’re with the characters looking at themselves and looking at each other with these bizarre powers and feeling like they’re really interacting with you.”
Aussies who didn’t get to see Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Sabotage” on the big screen will be pleased to hear it’s due out on Blu-ray and DVD in July.
