the ol’ rumour machine’s been working overtime spitting about whispers about a sequel that’s still a few long years away. Still, like a brown pip in an orange juice factory, we report it don’t we.
Aint it Cool is reporting that Sean Penn might be Director Chris Nolan’s number 1. choice for the role of The Joker in "Batman Begins 2" or "Batman Continues" or "Batman Strikes Back" or "Batman Reloaded" – whatever the heck the marketing geniuses tag it.
According to star Christian Bale, Nolan’s pursuing the usually-serious Oscar Winner to wear the smiley paint.
"However there’s still some finessing to do because Sean’s apparently unsure about ‘taking’ his buddy, Jack Nicholson’s, role", says a scooper for the site.
That makes four Joker contenders in all – Crispin Glover, Lachy Hulme, Paul Bettany and now Robin’s beau. Can only be a couple of years before we find out who snags it, right?
