Official Poster for The Expendables 2

Following the teaser trailer that was released, Lionsgate has released the official poster for “The Expendables 2”. Now, I know what  you’re all gonna say: “Wasn’t the poster Clint debuted last month the real one?” Probably. But according to the folks over at Joblo, who were the ones who initially got their hands on it since they got it sent over, had this to say about it:

Now before we get to the poster, just a quick bit of defense of our EXPENDABLES 2 poster that we debuted last month. It’s en vogue to say that poster is bullshit or, as Stallone himself put it, “bogus.” Uh-huh. Well, that’s just not the case. I know the poster and where it came from and how it came to us and trust me it’s the opposite of bogus. It may not wind up being used in an official capacity but if that’s the case, it’s only because it was leaked to us.

Back on point, AICN has debuted the first official poster which you can now see below. “The Expendables 2” will be out August 17, 2012 and August 23 in Australia.

Directed by Simon West-directed action film stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In “The Expendables 2”, Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christmas (Statham), Yin Yang (Li), Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren),Toll Road (Couture) and Hale Caesar (Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time – six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother.
