Orlando Bloom back for Pirates 5?

Orlando Bloom might be returning for the fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

“The Hobbit : Battle of the Five Armies” actor tells IGN that he’s had talks about reprising his Will Turner role for the new installment, “Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Men Tell No Tales”.

“I’m not entirely sure that [I’ll be back] just yet, but there are talks,” he said. “Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son.

“I’m of course Davey [sic] Jones now, so I’m down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I’m rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won’t look anything like me. [Gestures to face] Get all gnarly.”

Brenton Thwaites (“The Giver”) plays a young British soldier in the film; the role has been likened to that of Bloom’s in the original trilogy. Might Thwaites be playing Bloom’s son?

“Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Men Tell No Tales” opens on July 7, 2017.
