Pettyfer undecided if he has the appetite for Hunger Games

Alex Pettyfer (“I Am Number Four”) has been offered the male lead in director Gary Ross’s “The Hunger Games”.

Though rumoured for a while, Pettyfer confirmed the offer in an interview with Access Hollywood.

”Yes, but undecided yet, still [waiting] to see a script”, the actor said.

Set in a post-apocalyptic society, “Hunger Games” revolves around an annual televised event where the Capitol chooses one boy and one girl from each district to fight to the death.

The film, based on the book series by Suzanne Collins, has been on the hunt for a female to play the lead character of Katniss for a while now, with everyone from Jennifer Lawrence to 14-year-old Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld rumoured to be in the running. Pettyfer’s character, Peeta, is Katniss’ love interest and partner in crime.
