Proffesor X caught in another Trance

Earlier this year, it was announced that post ”127 Hours”, director Danny Boyle’s next film would be Trance. At the time, no official casting announcements were released, but McAvoy’s ”X-Men: First Class” co-star Michael Fassbender was rumored to take the lead role, but he passed.

So now, McAvoy is said to be Boyle’s next choice for the lead role according to Variety.

A remake of the 2001 British TV movie of the same title (that version written and directed by Joe Ahearne), Trance would feature McAvoy as Simon, an employee at an arthouse who teams with a group of criminals to steal a valuable piece. Though the heist succeeds, a blow to the head gives Simon amnesia and he is unable to remember where the art is hidden. Suspecting foul play, Simon’s co-conspirators hire a hypnotist to try and pull the secret from his mind.

Filming is scheduled to begin in London this September, but as previously reported, with Boyle’s involvement in the 2012 Olympics, the film will have nearly a full year break before resuming production, aiming for a March 2013 release.
