Ford for “Enders Game”, another “Indiana Jones”
Looks like Harrison Ford might be skipping the “Cowboys & Aliens” sequel in favour of something a little more bucksome (who am I kidding!, not even the audience is returning for a “Cowboys & Aliens” sequel), the feature film adaptation of “Enders Game”. A few clock ticks ago we heard that “Hugo” star Asa Butterfield (with a name like that you’re born to be a star!) was a lock for the title role in the science-fiction film about a young lad named Ender Wiggin, taken at a very young age to a training center known as the Battle School where there teachers train tykes in the arts of war so they can fight the aliens that have already attacked twice. Now there’s word that Ford, who most had hoped could save the dire “Cowboys & Aliens”, might return to outer space for the role of the grizzled (when we’re talking Ford, is there any other type?!) Colonel Hyrum Graff in the film. In other words, Ford will have the Michael Ironside role if you’re looking at “Enders Game” as a “Starship Troopers” type offering. As much as I’m looking forward to seeing the film, and as exciting as it is to have Ford possibly back in something science-fictioney, the fact that the big guy has picked nothing but duds the last few years and not to mention the little matter of Gavin Hood, of the ill-fated “X-Men Origins : Wolverine”, directing the thing, makes me a little cautious.
Meantime, Ford is apparently gearing up for the oft-rumoured “Indiana Jones 5”. He’ll be 70 when it shoots later next year. Shia LaBeouf will still be 12.
Three more “Mad Max” movies coming?
Not content with simply trying to push one new “Mad Max” movie up hill, George Miller tells the Financial Times he’s actually planning to make two more after he finally gets “Fury Road” – set to film around Easter next year in South Africa – up and running. The vet filmmaker says, “We started with [Fury Road], but we then started to do a second story and a third. We’ve written the script for the second and almost finished the third. We never intended to, they were part of the exploration of the characters.”

A new clip from a film I’m personally excited to see, Cameron Crowe’s “We Bought a Zoo” has premiered over at Yahoo! Movies. Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church, Patrick Fugit, Elle Fanning and John Michael Higgins star in the zoological tearjerker.

Another trailer for Fox’s “The Sitter”, a Jonah Hill-starring comedy about a college kid who ends up babysitting a couple of troublesome kids, has been unearthed under the intersoil.
Paul W.S Anderson doing found-footage series
“Death Race” and “The Muskeeters” helmer Paul W.S Anderson is developing a new one-hour psychological thriller series for television, “The Reel.” The series spec was brought to the filmmaker’s Entertainment One by first-time writer, Adam D’Alba.
In this “found footage” series, a young documentarian searches for evidence of the supernatural. His first case concerns the mysterious last days of two teenagers and a serial killer, known as the Mirror Mask Killer, who uses various forms of psychological torment to exact bloody vengeance on its victims. “The Reel” combines supernatural shocks in a case-per-week format that leads viewers through a season long mystery.
Marking “The Reel” as his first television project, the series is created and written by Adam D’Alba who has written in the horror genre since the fourth grade when he staged an adaptation of an episode of ”Are You Afraid of the Dark”.
“When we read Adam’s script we were genuinely disturbed by the story and fascinated by the idea of a found footage TV show,” said Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt. “We are very grateful to the innovative eOne team for turning the idea into a reality.”
Djokovic joins Sly’s “Expendables” sequel
Novak Djokovic, the tennis player, is going to do a cameo in “The Expendables 2”. The champ is playing himself in a scene that’s already underway in Bulgaria. Producer Avi Lerner personally invited the Tennis player to appear in the sequel.
Jeremy Renner not taking over “M:I” franchise – not yet, anyway
Paramount Pictures say Jeremy Renner’s comments to Extra about taking over the “Mission : Impossible” franchise – he reportedly said Cruise had asked him and he was up for it – for Tom Cruise were taken out of context. Deadline report “Here is the full account of how Jeremy Renner replied to the question about “the rumors his Mission: Impossible character might possibly take over in a 5th installment of the franchise. Renner shot down the rumor, replying: ’I don’t think that’s really ever a possibility. I think the possibility, first and foremost, is for audiences to receive this movie and like it, want to see more. And then it’s Tom’s willingness to want to do another one, to put together another big movie like this. These aren’t easy to put together. So if Paramount and Tom want me to do it, I’d be happy to be a part of it. I’d be up for it… assuming my character doesn’t croak. I’m not going to tell ya!’ “” Seeing this flick in a few days, can’t wait!
First look at a “Maniac”
Bloody Disgusting has premiered the first two set stills of Elijah Wood in slasher-mode for the “Maniac” remake. William Lustig’s 1980 classic told of a schizoid serial killer randomly stalks and kills various young women in New York, which he sees as revenge for the mistreatment he got while being raised by his own abusive mother.
