Ratchet & Clank release date & voice cast announced

Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment are turning video game “Ratchet & Clank” into a movie, and now they’ve revealed the voice cast and a release date.

Focus Features will distribute the film in North America on April 29, 2016.

Paul Giamatti will voice “Chairman Drek”; John Goodman will be “Grimroth”; Bella Thorne is “Cora”; Rosario Dawson is “Elaris”; and Sylvester Stallone will voice “Victor.”

The new additions join returning video game voice-cast James Arnold Taylor as the titular “Ratchet”; David Kaye as “Clank”; Armin Shimerman as “Nefarious”; and Jim Ward as “Captain Qwark”.

The original “Ratchet & Clank” games centre on two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. Ratchet is the last of his kind, a foolhardy “lombax” who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own, while Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn.

Kevin Munroe and Jericca Cleland will direct from a screenplay by original game writer TJ Fixman.

The news comes via IGN.
