Ray Romano to direct, co-star with Laurie Metcalf in new film

Highly underrated actor – and now filmmaker – Ray Romano (“Everybody Loves Raymond”, “Parenthood””, “The Irishman”) will direct and star in an untitled dramedy that’ll lens April 19 in New York.

The film, which Romano wrote with Mark Stegemann, will tell of Leo (Romano) and Angela (Laurie Metcalf) who live a blue-collar life in Queens, surrounded by the big personalities of their overbearing Italian-American family. When their lanky soft-spoken son ‘Sticks’ finds success on his high school basketball team and a chance at a life beyond what tradition expects, Leo tears the family apart trying to make it happen.

Romano has been killing it in the ‘look what else I can do!’ department over the last few years so I’d expect this is gonna be well worth looking out for.
