Red helmer doing Divergent sequel

Robert Schwentke (“Red”) will direct “Insurgent”, the sequel to March release “Divergent”, Deadline revealed today.

Schwentke replaces Neil Burger, who opted to stop at only one chapter in the “Divergent” series. Trilogy is based on a series of books by Veronica Roth.

Akiva Goldsman (“Winter’s Tale”) is working on the script for “Insurgent”, which has a March 20, 2015 release date already.

The third film in the series, ”Allegiant”, will bow on March 18, 2016.
