Reese Witherspoon sure does option a lot of stuff – but doesn’t seem to make a lot of movies (never easy getting a movie up, regardless of whose name is on the ‘letter of intent’). Makes sense then that her latest venture be something she’s merely a hired-gun on.
The “Walk the Line” actress is set for producer Peter Chernin’s romantic comedy “The Beard”, which she’ll also snag a producing credit on.
Based on a spec script by Becca Greene, the movie assumingly – I don’t know, neither do THR who reported Witherspoon’s attachment to the project – fixes on a woman’s gay pal pretending to be her straight partner.
Witherspoon is currently filming the slightly meatier “Devil’s Knot”, about the West Memphis Three.
