Refn says Gosling’s Driver character may return, but not in a sequel

Though a sequel exists in literary form, “Drive” sequel Nicolas WInding Refn has let it be known that he doesn’t intend on sequelizing his acclaimed 2011 thriller.

The character of ‘Driver’ (Ryan Gosling in the movie), however, may pop up in another film though, the filmmaker says.

“That is never going to happen”, Refn tells The Playlist when asked about a sequel. ” But the character of The Driver might return in another film. We’re playing with that idea. We’ll see what happens.”

So there you have it, either Gosling’s ‘Driver’ character is going to do a walk-on in some other big movie, for five minutes or so, or he’s going to be a main character in some sort of spin-off project. Better than nothing!
