Robin Cook’s classic book “Coma”, famously made into a 1978 movie starring Michael Douglas and Genevieve Bujold (and, from memory, Tom Selleck as a corpse!?), is headed back to our screens.
The new version, executive produced by Tony and Ridley Scott, is a two-night, four-hour miniseries for A&E.
The book, and earlier film (which was directed by famed author Michael Crichton), tell of a a doctor who begins to suspect that something is amiss when healthy patients begin to fall into comas,
According to The Hollywood Reporter, vets Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, Geena Davis and James Woods will star alongside up-and-comers Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”) and Steven Pasquale (“Rescue Me”) in the series.
Joseph Mazello (“The Pacific”), James Rebhorn (“The Game”) and Joe Morton (“Terminator 2”) are also onboard.
The script was written by John J. McLaughlin.
