Pollack gives up directing duties
“Austin Powers” helmer Jay Roach has replaced Sydney Pollack – now there’s two guys on different ends of the scale, if you ask me – on the political drama “Recount”, says Variety.
Pollack continues as an exec producer on the project, which explores the personal drama following the Florida recount from the contested Election Day results though the Supreme Court’s decision in favour of George W. Bush five weeks later.
Don’t bother calling your local theatre to pre-book tickets though – you’d be a nutter to book them twelve months ahead anyway, Skywalker or no Skywalker – because it’ll premiere in your loungeroom … well, those loungerooms with HBO.
