Rourke on Sin City 2, Genghis Khan, Passion Play

Though it had previously been reported he wasn’t interested in reprising big Marv for the long-gestating ”Sin City” sequel, Mickey Rourke tells Moviehole that he’d now consider doing the sequel… but just has one request.

“If it happens – I mean, that’s another movie that’s three hours of make-up – as long as Robert Rodriguez’s wife isn’t involved in it”, the actor, currently appearing as Whiplash in “Iron Man 2”, says.

Hard to say who Rodriguez is speaking of – since he’s now divorced from his wife, producer Elizabeth Avellan and recently split from long-time squeeze Rose McGowan.

If it’s indeed McGowan (who also starred in “Sin City”) Rourke’s referring to, then the reason why the actor suddenly dropped out of the upcoming “Conan” remake, which McGowan has a supporting role in, may have just been unearthed.

For the meantime, Rourke is concentrating on an upcoming “Genghis Khan” biopic.

“John Milius wrote the script and it’s a really intelligent movie. The movie is from his children’s point of view – his son’s point of view – and his enemy’s point of view. He’s in his late forties when the movie starts and he sees a girl that he met like twenty years-ago that was beautiful but is harder to look at now – [Milius] wrote it with humour.”

His next project though is an independent drama with Megan Fox.

“It’s called Passion Play. It’s about a trumpet player, who’s a heroin addict, who meets a girl with a heart of gold – she has real wings.”

Drug-addict flick? “That was just a small subplot really, it was the trumpet that played a bigger part – and I was more terrified of it, than heroin”, laughs the Oscar Nominee.

“It wasn’t like working on Iron Man, but creatively it was a lot of fun. [Megan Fox] was great to work with… I mean, look at her! And it was also great to work with someone who may be beautiful and good-looking but also knows how to do her homework. I think people will have a different perspective of her [after this film]. I worked with an actress recently who, despite having a reputation as a ‘good actress’, shits herself when that little red light comes on. She’s fooled everyone into thinking she’s a lot better than she is. Working with someone like that is a pain in the ass, ya know? So it was great to work with someone like Megan”.
