Sausage Party 2 will likely be about this…

With the staggeringly pleasingly coin it made over the weekend, it’s almost a given that Sony will regroup the horny produce for a “Sausage Party” sequel. That’s music to the ears of one of the [filthy] minds behind the hit animated movie, who says he’s already got an idea as to where to take the characters in the next movie.

** SPOILERS AHEAD **

At the end of the movie, the main characters have just been advised that they’re not real but are cartoons and that they’re voiced by the likes of “Seth Rogen” and “Edward Norton”. They then step into a portal -where presumably they’ll meet the actors that have voiced them. We never see that. Fade to black. Roll credits.

The film’s original ending – which was screened at SXSW – saw the characters going through the portal, into a live-action world, and meeting the actors that voice them.

Seth Rogen says that’s the idea they’re likely going to go with for the sequel.

“That’s one of the reasons why we took away the [original] ending because we thought, well, if that was the first scene of the next movie it’s probably not what you would want it to be, with them just seeing us and finding us basically”, Rogen tells Fandango. “But the idea of a live-action/animated movie, like a Who Framed Roger Rabbit style hybrid is also very exciting, mostly because Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is one of my favorite movies of all time.”

So there you go, in the near future expect to see Edward Norton interact with a horny bun at a cinema near you!
