SDCC : Bernsen not returning for Major League 3

You’ll recall a couple of weeks back that Clint ran a nice fat scoop regarding a new “Major League” sequel that would reunite the stars of the 1989 original.

Director David S.Ward told Clint that “It’s 20 years later, and Wild Thing comes out of retirement to work with this 19-year-old player”, Ward says of what would be the third sequel (though he doesn’t considered “Major League : Back in the Minors” to be part of the series) to the ’80s fave. “We’ve actually got three new characters in the new film. And if the new film is popular, they could carry the franchise on”.

The filmmaker said Charlie Sheen is “excited to do it if and when it happens – but he can’t shoot it this year, because he’s back doing Two-and-a-Half Men, but we could potentially shoot it next year – in his hiatus from the show”.

So we know Rick ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn would be back, but what about Roger Dorn, played by Corbin Bernsen?

Sad news for “L.A Law” fans – Bernsen tells MovieWeb that Dorn won’t be be back as Indians player cum manager, Dorn.

“I’d love to do it, but I’ve also been told I’m not in the script – they’ve written it without Roger Dorn. I called them all, and asked them, and they said ‘We just don’t see a place for him’.”

Bernsen said it’s not a sore spot (though clearly it is) but he is disappointed. “They’re talking about inviting everyone [from the original film] back – but I’m not in it….It’s Minor League”.
