Sex in the City on New Years Eve

The cast of prospective Scream Award nominee “New Year’s Eve” – that’s director Garry Marshall’s semi-sequel/spin-off to glitzy garbage hit “Valentine’s Day” – just keeps on getting bigger and bigger (Seems the rich only wanna get richer).

Joining the already set Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin and other holiday-beseeching actors is Sarah Jessica Parker, of the now-dead “Sex and the City” film franchise. The flick reunites Mrs Ferris Bueller with New Line. Halle Berry (“X-Men”) and Zac Efron (“17 Again”) are also in talks.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Parker is playing “Breslin’s mom, someone who relies too much on her daughter for company”.

Should the deal come off, Oscar Winner Berry will play “a caterer who runs into a former flame” and “Efron is on track to play a bike messenger who ends up trying to fulfill Pfeiffer’s New Year’s Eve resolutions in exchange for tickets to a big party.”

The movie, about a group of New Yorkers dealing with the trials and tribulations of love on New Years Eve, is gearing up for a Feb shoot.

You know what… hasn’t this movie already been done? Wasn’t it called “200 Cigarettes”? Believe it had Ben and Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, Christina Ricci and a bunch of other famous faces in it?

Will there be a sequel to The Other Guys?
