Shia LaBeouf vs. Suicide Squad!? Nearly!

Had he not been so, er, naughty the past couple of years one-time cinema wunderkind Shia LeBeouf might’ve ended up in David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad”.

According to the actor himself, he was set to reunite with his “Fury” director for the super-villain team-up movie, specifically in the role Scott Eastwood ended up playing in the film.

“The character was different initially, then Will [Smith] came in, and the script changed a bit. That character and Tom [Hardy’s] character [later played by Joel Kinnaman] got written down to build Will up”, the “Nymphomaniac” actor tells Variety. “I don’t think Warner Bros. wanted me. I went in to meet, and they were like, ‘Nah, you’re crazy. You’re a good actor, but not this one.’ It was a big investment for them.”

It’s been a few years since LaBeouf was in a big hit – the third “Transformers”, I believe – so he really could’ve done with this.
