Sony release shuffle: Jumanji, The Equalizer 2, Dark Tower & more

Sony has shaken up its release calendar today, shuffling around a number of big upcoming titles.

Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey starer “Dark Tower” has been pushed from its original release date of February 17, 2017, to July 28, 2017.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson’s “Jumanji” sequel/reboot was supposed to open on the July 28 date, so will now hit cinemas on December 22, 2017.

“The Equalizer 2” has also been delayed a year from September 29, 2017, to its new release date of September 14, 2018. Denzel Washington is expected to reprise his role of Robert McCall for that film, but no screenwriter or director are attached.

“The Flatliners” reboot has also been delayed a few weeks, from August 18, 2017 to September 29, 2017.

Finally, Danny Boyle’s “T2 Trainspotting” (see the newly-released trailer here) has moved back its North American release from February 3, 2017 to a limited March 3, 2017 release. It will then go wide on March 10, 2017.
