Sparks fly between Gere & Lane again

“Unfaithful” duo for “Rodanthe”

My wife looooooves the books of Nicholas Sparks – I think Adam does too, if memory serves me correctly, or maybe it’s just “The Notebook” and “Walk to Remember” the films? – Especially “The Notebook” and “The Wedding”. He’s the chap that pens all the syrupy-sweet romance novels. Good ones though; not your Fabio-on-the-cover types. I picked the Mrs up “Nights in Rodanthe” a year or so back, but I don’t believe she’s had a chance to read it yet, and now, doubt she’ll even bother. Yep, the film version is coming. Simplest way to get through a book, ain’t it?

Richard Gere and Diane Lane, so good together in “Unfaithful” a couple of years back, have signed to star in the film. I’m guessing from their ages that this one features characters that are a little older than those in “The Notebook” and “A Walk to Remember”.

In the Warner Bros pic, Gere will play a doctor who is traveling to reconcile with his estranged son. On the way, he checks into an inn in a North Carolina beach town. There, he has a life-changing romance with a woman who’s trying to decide whether to stay in her unhappy marriage.

What’s the bet that book I bought will never be read?
