Stopping Power indeed

Cusack actioner cancelled for good by the sounds

The plug has been pulled for a second time on the John Cusack/Melissa George thriller “Stopping Power” with the latest bunch of investors inexorably getting cold feet, too. According to Variety, the film has been annulled.

The movie, which Jan De Bont was to direct, was a co-production between Internationalmedia subsidiary Intermedia and German f/x house Action Concept and was set to start lensing shortly in Berlin.

Internationalmedia declined to say which of the film’s financiers had pulled out, indicating that it would pursue legal recourse. A separate production subsidiary set up for the film, IM Stopping Power, has filed for insolvency as a result.
