SyFy may pick up the recently canceled The Event

As much as I like it’s cast and as interesting as it’s premise may be, I just can’t/couldn’t get into “The Event”. Billed as the new “Lost”, the show – – just seemed to be using the ‘let’s throw this in and see if it sticks’ approach. But again, no fault of the cast – who were you all great on the show (Sarah Roemer particularly so).

Much like “Jericho”, seems the show has more than a few fans who want to see the show’s premise wrapped up – the story of an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancee and in turn discovers a major U.S cover up – some shape or form. According to Deadline, a “Event” revival may come in the form of a mini-series… over at SyFy.

hear there are talks with Syfy to pick up The Event as a miniseries. Helping things is the fact that Syfy and The Event producer, Universal Media Studios, are NBCUniversal corporate siblings. But migrating a broadcast show to cable is never easy, and I hear discussions are underway to see if it would be financially feasible for The Event to continue on Syfy. If that happens and if the mini does well, it could potentially launch another season of the alien drama

Of more interest, to me anyway, is that the network is also looking at picking up “Locke & Key” which Fox recently passed on.
