Clint’s Pick of the Day : “Flowers in the Attic” (1987)
”Though it’s been many years since I last saw it, I’ll always remember that even my first impression was one of fear and wonder. My childhood was soon to be lost, my innocence shattered, and all our dreams destroyed by what we would find within.”

Quick News is a 33-inch compilation featuring all original artists, all hits, all the time – though we’re only playing the radio edit of each respective track due to time restrictions. Sorry. In other words, this section is made up of news items that for one reason or another didn’t warrant a full page article. NB : It was either ‘Quick News’ or ‘The Danny Baldwin’s’.

A french international poster for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” came online today; Sony have also released the green-band trailer (as opposed to a ‘red-band’ one which was leaked *cough* by Sony *cough* on the weekend) for the film.

A few days back Summit let us know that we’ll be able to view “Source Code” on video-on-demand two weeks before the DVD and Blu-ray release of the film.

Los Angeles, CA May 31, 2011 – Summit Home Entertainment announced today that its Sci-fi film SOURCE CODE will be available to consumers via VOD and EST on Friday, July 8, 2011, approximately two weeks prior to the film’s home entertainment release date of Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Traditionally standard VOD and EST are available day and date with physical discs. This particular case will test the demand for viewing a bigger budgeted film digitally prior to the release of physical discs. Summit is not shortening the industry established window between a film’s theatrical release and its home entertainment debut, rather this test aligns with the studio’s ongoing efforts to find the best way to present its films digitally.

Just like “Pirates of the Caribbean” a couple of weeks ago, a lack of interest in 3D movies (namely because customers are charged more to sit through a 3D film) is again being blamed on the poor performance of a movie; in this case, “Kung-Fu Panda 2” didn’t put as many bums on seats as Dreamworks Animation had hoped and the culprit, most agree, is the higher-priced 3D slap-on. Bryan Cranston said he’s taking a different approach to playing Cohaagen, the character played by Ronny Cox in the 1990 film, in the “Total Recall” reboot. “I took a different path as you will see. My path was that the Hauser character – the man I knew before his memory was erased – I am so fond of. He is a protégé of mine and I love this kid. To me, to find him and to capture him was about trying to restrain an unruly teenager of mine. I have no intention of causing him any long term damage, but he needs to be punished. He is acting out. I have to find him and give him some tough love. So that was my whole point. It is that I love him and I want to protect him at all costs, but he is just testing me. He is being challenging like a teenager would be. That is my whole approach to it as opposed to the “I want him dead!” kind of feeling. I want him alive and when it gets to a point where that might not be possible it breaks my heart.” (More…)

Oh! a warmhearted congratulations to a good friend and a fantastic actress Juliet Landau (Drusilla in “Buffy”) who has snagged a plum role in the new Rudolf Buitendach film “Dark Hearts“. Lucas Till (“X-Men : First Class”) headlines the movie, the story of a “struggling artist [who] accompanies his younger brother to a secret gig where he finds his muse in sultry singer (Kinski) only to be thrust into a maelstrom of art, blood and passion, leading to a dangerous love triangle.” Congrats Jules!
